Project Summary:
As part of the overall improvement program for the Palmetto Expressway, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 6 has initiated efforts to improve mobility on the Palmetto Expressway (SR 826) / Dolphin Expressway (SR 836) Interchange.

Proposed improvements are expected to enhance traffic flow between the two expressways in all directions by:

  • Providing direct connector ramps - in all directions - between SR 826 and SR 836.
  • Providing additional lanes to help reduce traffic congestion.
  • Improving direct ramp exits to main streets.
  • Providing corridors to accommodate proposed future transit route.
  • Providing corridors for future connections of NW 7th Street under SR 826 and of NW 82nd Avenue under SR 836.

Start Date: Summer 2009
